A propos Simona_Mura

Simona Mura is Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Paris-Saclay. After graduating as a Pharmacist (University of Cagliari, Italy), she obtained her PhD in Chemistry and Technology of Drug in 2009 at the same university (Direction Professor A.M. Fadda) working on the design and in vitro evaluation of novel vesicular systems for the topical delivery of drugs. She then joined the group of Professor E. Fattal (Institut Galien, UMR CNRS 8612) at the University Paris-Saclay (France), as a post-doctoral researcher to study the lung toxicity of biodegradable nanoparticles designed for pulmonary drug administration. In 2011 she has been appointed Associate professor in the same University and she has been hosted at the CNRS for the period 2011-2016 (Chaires d 'excellence program). In 2015, she has been appointed Visiting professor at the Osaka University (Group of Professor M. Akashi) and in 2017 she integrated the prestigious Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) as Junior member. She has been awarded her HDR (Accreditation to conduct research) in 2018 and in February 2019 she has obtained the qualification to apply to the full professor positions. Her research is carried out at the interface between chemistry, physical-chemistry and biology. She focuses on the design of biomimetic drug delivery systems and the understanding of the behavior of nanomedicines in the complex biological milieu encountered in the human body from the site of administration to the site of action by combining 3D culture methodologies, microfluidic technology and advanced characterization techniques.
